Skilled Nursing & Assisted Living Bed License Transfer in Mecklenburg County, NC

NOVEMBER 2018
Senwell is proud to announce the successful facilitated sale of both skilled nursing (nursing home) and adult care (assisted living) beds in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. A well-known national CCRC operator was in its initial stages of developing its first North Carolina site, when they engaged Senwell Senior Investment Advisors. North Carolina has a law in place in which a CCRC is exempt from the Certificate of Need bed pool, as long as patients and residence are admitted from its own site.
The operator wanted both “LTC-2” adult care beds, assisted living beds that can accept residents from outside of the community, and “NH-6” nursing home beds that allow referrals from outside of the community. The Senwell team found operators from three facilities across the state willing to sell enough assisted living and skilled nursing beds to reach the buyer’s desired quantity. Once the application was approved, the CCRC site is eligible to begin accepting patients and residents from outside of the community. Ben and Brandon Bohland worked on the successful outcome of this transaction.
